Foxes All year care for children 3 to 5 years of age

This classroom is a specially prepared environment designed to support each child's needs for purposeful activity. It is divided into separate areas, all of which interrelate.

The children are free to choose their own activities, to watch other children at work or to work in small groups. The needs of every child are respected by all, with materials being cared for and returned to the shelves ready for the next person.

As well as the main educational areas of the room we have art activities and do lots of story telling, drama, singing, movement, PE and outside play.

The classrooms are designed to help the children develop their personalities and learn through experiences. Language, writing, reading and mathematics activities are undertaken each day but are presented in such a way that the children do not even realise they are learning. Often the rooms will be calm and quiet: this is usually because the children are busy learning!

As this classroom caters for full day children, they will eat meals with us (depending on which session they attend) and if they require a short nap during the day, we will lay out a sleep mat.

These children will access the garden twice a day and particularly during the summer, use the garden as a learning environment as an extension to the classroom.

There are 12 places available in this room, with 2 qualified members of staff.
